About Us
Pennine Law was formed in 2008 as a result of the union of Dransfield Hodgkinson & Lofthouse Solicitors of Penistone (Est. 1830), and William Hoyland Solicitors of Hoyland (Est.2000). We provide a range of legal services to meet the needs of both individual and commercial clients.
Whilst many of our clients are local to Barnsley, Penistone and Stocksbridge, we also have an established client base throughout Yorkshire, and particular links with the surrounding agricultural communities.
Our business success is dependent on our commitment to providing a high level of service with reliability, at a cost that meets the requirements of our clients. We are a professional firm and professionalism is the standard ALL our personnel strive to attain.
Our strapline “talk to us first” arises from experience of dealing with legal problems which could have very often been avoided if time was taken to discuss potential problems before they become entwined in costly legal disputes. We offer an initial free advice service to all our clients, so make sure you talk to us first.
Opening Hours
Our offices are open Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm, and appointments can be made at whichever office suits you. We can also offer evening and weekend appointments by arrangement.

Hoyland is just 5 minutes from Junction 36 M1, or there’s our Penistone town centre offices with easy access from Sheffield, Barnsley, Stocksbridge & Huddersfield.
We have wheelchair access at the rear of both offices.
