Pennine Law Supports Local Girls’ Football Development

Earlier in the year, Pennine Law agreed to sponsor a local girls’ football team – Penistone Church Ladies & Girls FC Under 14s (Whites). With such an interest in the ladies’ and girls’ game, many age groups at the Penistone club are split into two separate teams to give more girls a chance at joining in.

At Pennine Law, we care a great deal about supporting the local communities in which we work. We count ourselves lucky to have an office in Penistone, and even luckier that we have the UK’s largest one-day agricultural show on our doorstep.

Fundraising at Penistone Agricultural Show

At the Penistone Agricultural Show this year, we took an opportunity to raise some funds for the football team we sponsor. We ran a ‘100-square prize draw’ alongside a free-to-play football skills game.

Each participant to join the prize draw chose a numbered square from the 100-square board and donated £2 to our fundraiser.

Both the 100-square prize draw and our ‘hit the target’ skills game drew plenty of attention from the show visitors. We had a great day at the show and managed to raise over £200 for Penistone Church Ladies & Girls FC Under 14s (Whites).

Prize Draw Winners

The three winners of our 100-square prize draw took home a signed Joe Scarborough print each along with a case of wine for 1st place and a bottle of Prosecco for 2nd place. Well done to all our winners and thank you to everyone who donated and took part in the prize draw.

After cashing up, we had raised a grand total of £212 for the football club. James Mace, team manager for the girls under 14s (Whites) said: “It’s really appreciated the help that Pennine Law has provided to us. We train twice a week and will use the money raised to purchase new training equipment and some new footballs.”
